FAQs

What is a health case competition?

Health case competitions provide a platform for students to showcase their ideas and innovative solutions to develop cases within the health sector. The UNB Health Case Competition is an eight-day competition for UNB undergraduate students of all faculties. Participants will be placed in teams to develop interdisciplinary solutions to a New Brunswick health-related case.

No background knowledge or experience is necessary to participate, but there will be an application process for students who would like to participate. Formulated teams of four students will then be given all related case information and files, work diligently and cooperatively to solve the given case, and then present their answers to the case competition judges. Each team will also receive a mentor to guide them in their presentation and problem-solving skills. Judges will select a winning team who will receive a $700 cash prize ($175/member) and a runner-up team that will receive a $300 cash prize ($75/member).

By applying their knowledge to real-world health challenges, UNB students will form problem-solving, networking, and collaborative skills that they can utilize to make impactful changes in our community.
